Cape Tribulation Resort & Spa - Cape Tribulation Wilderness Cruises
"I was amazed at the number of crocs that we came across on the cruise" - Barry, Auckland
A fascinating exploration of Cooper Creek mangroves in search of the reclusive estuarine crocodile. Set in nine square kilometers of pristine World Heritage listed wilderness, Cooper Creek is home to a diverse range of native flora and fauna. You'll be astounded by the variety of wildlife and the possibility of viewing a number of crocodiles in their own environment.
This is a truly wild place. While crocodile sightings are not guaranteed, the search is one to remember. You'll wind your way from Cooper Creek's Coral Sea mouth towards Queensland's third highest mountain, Thornton Peak, on a leisurely, informative cruise through this unique mangrove micro-ecology.
Home to reputedly the most biodiverse mangrove system in Australia, Cooper Creek's significance, internationally recognised, has been cited by Queensland's Parks and Wildlife Service, which is responsible for protecting the creek's precious flora and fauna.
